Bhaja Govindam, Bhaja Govindam,
Govindam Bhaja Mooda Mathe,
Samprapthe sannihithe kale,
Nahi nahi rakshathi dookrunj karane.

Pray Govinda, Pray Govinda,
Pray Govinda, You fool,
For all the ken with you,
Will not be there,
When your end is near. 1

Dhinamapi rajani , sayam pratha,
Sisira vasanthou punarayatha,
Kala kreedathi gachat yayu,
Sthadapi na munjathyasa vayu (Bhaja Govindam…..)
Daily comes the night, eve and morn.
The autumn and spring,
Comes again and again every year.
Time forever plays with life,
But desire does not desert this body forever. . (Pray Govinda,………..) 2

Agre Vahni , prashte bhanu,
Rathrou chibuka samirpitha janu,
Karathala biksha taru thala vasa
Sthadhapi na munjathyasapasa. (Bhaja Govindam….)
The sun in the back,
And the fire behind,
Prevents biting cold during the day,
Knees meet the chin during the night,
To keep one warm.
And food comes by the daily begging,
Life is spent below a tree,
But desire does not desert this body forever. (Pray Govinda) 3

Yavadvitho parjana saktha,
Sthavannija parivaro raktha
Paschat jeevathi jarajjara dehe,
Varthaam prucchathi ko apina gehe. (Bhaja Govindam…..)
Till you are able to earn,
The wealth that everybody yearns,
All the family you love,
Will love and care.
But when the cage of your body gets old,
They would not even ask you,
“How are you?” (Pray Govinda,) 4
Jatilo mundee lunchitha kesa,
Kaashayambara bahu krutha vesha,
Pasyannapi cha na pasyathi lokaa
Hyudhara nimittam bahu krutha soka. (Bhaja govindam….)
Men with hairs overgrown,
Men with a shaved head,
Men with a well-cut hair,
Men with ochre robes,
See the world,
But pretend they don’t,
And suffer all the way,
To fill their belly forever. (Pray Govinda,) 5
Bagavat geetha kinchid adheetha,
Gangaajalalava kanikaa peetha,
Sukrudhapi yasya murari samarcha,
Tasya yama kim kuruthe charchaam. (Bhaja Govindam…)
Read and imbibe Bhagavat Gita,
Drink a drop of the holy Ganga,
At least once salute the Lord,
Then the God of death,
Will not bother you forever. (Pray Govinda,) 6

Dasanaviheenam jatham thundam,
Vruddho yathi gruheetha dhandam,
Tadapi na munjathyaasa pindam. (Bhaja Govindam….)
The limbs have become weak,
The head has become fully bald,
There are no teeth in the mouth,
And the old man totters with an aid of a stick,
But desire does not desert this body ever. (Pray Govinda,…)7
Balasthavat kreedasaktha,
Stharunasthavath tharunee saktha,
Vrudha staavath chintha magna,
Parame brahmani kopi na lagna. (Bhaja Govindam….)
The child’s mind is engaged in play,
The youths mind is engaged in his lasses charms,
The old man’s mind is full of worries,
But no one thinks of the Ultimate Truth. (Pray Govinda,) 8
Punarapi jananam punarapi maranam,
Punarapi janani jatare sayanam,
Iha samsaare khalu dusthare,
Krupayaa pare pahi murare. (Bhaja Govindam…..)
Again and again one is born,
And again and again one dies,
And again and again one sleeps in the mother’s womb,
Help me to cross,
This limitless sea of Life,
Which is uncrossable, my Lord (Pray Govinda, )9
Punarapi Rajani, punarai divasa,
Punaraip paksha, punarapi maasa,
Punarapyayanam, punarapi varsham,

Again and again this dark nights,
Again and again this luster full days,
Again and again these months and years,
But pride and desire never leaves you forever (Pray Govinda,……..)
10
Vayasi gathe ka kama vikara,
Shushke neere ka kaasaara,
Nashte dravye ka parivaara,
Gnathe tathwe ka samasaara. (Bhaja Govindam…)

Why this passion, when one totters with age,
Why the search for water in the dried up lake,
Why search for relations, when wealth dries,
There is no desire for life,
When you get real knowledge. Of truth (Pray Govinda, ……)
11
Naree sthana bhara nabhi nivesam,
Mithyaa mayaa mohaavesam,
Ethan mamsavasaadhi vikaram,
Manasi vichinthaya vaaram vaaram. (Bhaja Govindam….)

A lady’s busts divine,
Her bellies shapely,
They are but gates of deceit,
And the joy that is given out,
Is by flesh and fat alone..
Think of this,
Day in and day out (Pray Govinda,……..)

12
Kasthwam Ko aham kutha ayatha?
Kaa me janani ko me thatha.
Ithi paribhavaaya sarvamasaaram,
Viswam tyakthwa swapna vichaaram. (Bhaja Govindam….)

Who is my mother ?
Who is my father?

Give all the wealth to the poor. (Pray Govinda,……)
14
Yavajjevo nivasathi dehe,
Kusalam thaavath prucchathi gehe,
Gathavathi vaayou dehaapaaye,
Baryaa bhibyasthi tasmin kaye. (Bhaja Govindam…..)

Till the breath is in the body,
All friends ask your welfare,
When it leaves your frame,
Even your darling wife,
Is full of fear of you , Hey fool (Pray Govinda, …….)
15
Sukhadha kriyathe ramaa bhoga,
Paschatdandha sarere roga,
Yadyapi loke maranam saranam,
Tadapi na munchathi papacharanam. (Bhaja Govindam…..)

It is but for pleasure,
That a lady is sought,
Slowly the body gets sick,
The only path leads you,
To your death for sure,
Still no one leaves the sinful ways. (Pray Govinda,…….)
16
Radhyaa charpata virachita kkandha,
Punyaapunya vivarjitha padha.
Naaham nathwa naayam loka,
Stadhapi kimartham kriyathe soka. (Bhaja Govindam…..)

Like collecting strewn rags all the way,
In life one collects sin and good deeds.
Realize that me or you,
Is not the truth.
In your newly chartered path
Still why are you sad? (Pray Govinda,…..)
17
Kuruthe Gangaa sagara gamanam,
Vrutha paripaalana madhava dhaanam,
Gnana viheena sarvamathena,
Mukthin na bhavathi janma sathena. (Bhaja Govindam…..)

Take bath in Ganga,
Take a dip in the ocean,
Observe penance,
Give money to charity.
All faiths tell you without fail,
And if you do not realize this truth,
Even in hundred lives,
You will not attain the Lord. (Pray Govinda,………)
18
Yoga ratho vaa bhogaratho vaa,
Sanga ratho vaa sanga viheena,
Yasya brahmani ramathe chittam,
Nandathi nandathi nandathyeva. (Bhaja Govindam….)

You get joy,
Of meditation or passion,
Or you get joy,
In solitude or in company,
But All these are but impermanent.
Try to make your mind one,
With Para Brahmam,
That is the only permanent joy. (Pray Govinda,………..)

Sri Venkatesa Stotra
Translated by
P.R.Ramachander

Kamala kucha choochuka kumkumatho,
Niyatharuni thaathula neela thano,
Kamalayatha lochana loka pathe,
Vijayee bhava venkata shaila pathe. 1

Victory to the lord of Venkata Mountain,
Whose blue body coated with vermillion
From the breasts of Lakshmi appears red,
And who is the lord of the universe,
With eyes reminding us of lotus flower.

Sa chaturmukha shanmukha panchamukha,
Pramukhakhila daivatha mouli mane,
Saranagatha vathsala sara nidhe,
Paripalaya maam vrusha shaila pathe. 2

Please protect me oh., Lord of Vrusha mountain,
Who is the crown jewel among all the gods,
With four faces, six faces and five faces,
And who is the ultimate treasure who loves,
Those who come and surrender to him,

Athivelathaya thava durvishahai,
Anuvela kruthai , aparadha sathai,
Bharitham thwaritham vrusha shaila pathe,
Parayaa krupayaa pari pahi hare. 3

Greatly trembling for having committed various sins,
And also trembling for having done hundreds of wrongs,
I have rushed speedily for surrendering to you, Lord of Vrusha,
And so Oh, Hari, please shower on me your eternal mercy,

Adhi venkata shailamudharamathe,
Janathabhi mathaadhika dhana rathaath,
Para devathaya gathi thaan nigamai,
Kamala dayithaan param kalaye. 4

There is none greater to you, Oh Lord of Lakshmi,
Who is merciful by nature residing on Venkata mountain,
Who blesses his devotees with much more than they desire,
And who is saluted by other gods and books that show the way.

Kalavenuravasa gopavadhoo,
Sathakodi vruthaath, smarakodi samath,
Prathi vallavikabhimadath sukhadath,
Vasudeva suthaan na param kallaye. 5

There is no comparison to the son of Vasudeva,
Who attracts the gopa maidens , by music from his flute,
And fulfills the desire of each gopi and gives her pleasure,
Much More than hundreds of crores of penances
And prayers addressed to crores of similar Gods..

Abhirama gunakara dasarathe,
Jagadeka dhanurdhara dheeramathe,
Raghu nayaka rama, Ramesa Vibho,
Varadho bhava , deva dayajaladhe. 6

Become the boon giver, Oh sea of mercy,
Oh matchless doer of good, Oh son of Dasaratha,
Oh only archer of the world, oh god with a brave heart,
Oh Rama the lord of Raghu clan,
And Oh God who is the Lord of Lakshmi.

Avaneethanaya kamaneeya karam,
Rajanikara charu mukhambhuruham,
Rajanichara raja thamo mihiram,
Mahaneeyam aham raghrama maye. 7

I seek refuge in the great Rama of Raghu clan,
Whose pretty hands are held by the daughter of earth,
Who has a pretty lotus like face , similar to the moon,
And who as a king walks at night and destroys darkness like the sun.

Sumukham suhrudham sulabham sukhadham,
Savanujam cha sukhayam amogha saram,
Apahaya raghudwaham anyam aham,
Na kathanchana kanchana jaathu bhaje. 8

You are with pleasant face, good heart,
Very easy to reach and giver of pleasures,
Along with your brothers and with never ending stream of arrows,
So leaving you, I would never at any time , even for a second,
Pray any one else, Oh Jewel of the Raghu clan.

Vina Venkatesam na natho na natha,
Sada venkatesam smarami , smarami,
Hare Venkatesa , praseedha praseedha,
Priyam Venkatesa , prayacha prayacha. 9

I do not have any Lord except Venkatesa,
I remember and remember only Lord Venkatesa,
So Hey Venkatesa, be pleased with me,
I request you to give me only what you like. iyam Venkatesa , prayacha prayacha. 9

Aham dhooradasthe padambhoja yugma,
Pranamechaya agathya sevam karomi,
Sakruth sevaya nithya seva balam thwam,
Prayacha praycha prabho Venkatesa 10

I was far away from your two lotus like feet,
And have come with a wish to serve them,
And so I request and request you, Lord Venkatesa,
To please allow me to do good service to you.

Agnaninam maya doshan,
Aseshan vihithan hare,
Kshamasva thwam, kshamasva thwam,

Please pardon , please pardon ,
Oh crest jewel of the Sesha mountain,
This ignorant sinner of the sins committed,
Due to sheer helplessness , Oh Hari.

Sri Panchamukha Anjaneya

Sri Panchamukha Anjaneya: " Anjaneya has five faces (Pancha Mukha) and ten weapons. The five faces are that of Lord Hanuman, Lord Narasimha, Lord Adivaraha, Lord Hayagriva, and Lord Garuda.
Panchamukha (alternatively Panchamukhi) is a word meaning 'five-faced'.
Hanuman as 'Sri Panchamukha Anjaneya Swami' (Anjaneya = 'son of Anjani') is more famous in the South and some other parts of the world.
1. Sri Varaha facing the North
2. Sri Narasimha facing the South
3. Sri Garuda facing the West
4. Sri Hayagriva (a much earlier Avatar of Vishnu) facing the sky and
5. His own (Hanuman) facing the East

Every Face of Sri Panchamukha Hanuman' has significance
Sri Hanuman faces East. He grants purity of mind and success.
The Narasimha' faces South. He grants victory and fearlessness.
The West facing -Garuda' -removes black magic and poisons.
The North facing -Varaha'- showers prosperity, wealth. The Hayagriva' - mukha faces the Sky.
But since we cannot see it, it is usually tilted and shown above Hanuman's face.

(4) Northward looking face: VarAha Bhagavan ( Sugar Rice & vadai)
(5) Face over the HanumAn's face: Lord HayagrIvan , VidhyA moorthy

The Vaishnavas evolved a syncretic form of Hanuman with five heads and ten arms, incorporating in the composite image five important Vaishnavite deities:At the center a monkey's face (Hanuman).
A lion's visage representing Narasimha gazing southwards.
An eagle's head symbolizing Garuda facing west.
A boar head of Varaha (north).
A horse's face for Hayagriva (facing the sky).
1) The face of Hayagriva which is the face of horse, that represents the knowledge. Hayagriva is very famous to grant the knowledge. This represents the face of Brahma, who is representing the Veda or Knowledge.
2) The face of Varaha. Lord Varaha represents Vishnu because He lifted the earth and maintained it on His mouth. Vishnu is famous for the maintenance.
3) The face of Narasimha, which is the face of a lion that represents Lord Shiva. Narasimha destroyed the enemy against all the obstructing rules. Thus it represents the total destruction, which cannot be opposed by any force. These three heads represents Lord Datta.
4) The fourth face is the face of Garuda. Garuda representsthe highest position in the devotees because none can fly to that height. He has the strength of the bull (Nandi) and tremendous velocity of the Swan. This shows that Garuda is again another form of Datta with three faces. The Swan represents the knowledge of discrimination because the swan separates the milk and water and thus represents Brahma. Garuda is always associated with Lord Vishnu and the mark on His forehead (Tilaka) indicates Vishnu. The bull represents tremendous power, which is Lord Shiva. Thus Garuda is another form of Lord Datta representing the service or path. Thus Anjaneyar represents Lord Datta along with His most powerful and faithful servant called Kalabhairava. In fact Garuda is another form of Kalabhairava. Thus Anjaneyar represents a total picture of the path and the goal.
East facing Anjaneya to grant humanity Ishta Siddhi.
South facing Karala Ugraveera Narasimha to grant humanity Abhista Siddhi.
West facing Mahaveera Garuda to grant humanity Sakala Sowbhagya.
North facing Lakshmi Varaha to grant humanity Dhana Prapthi.
Urdhva Mukha {atop} being Hayagriva to grant humanity Sarva Vidya Jaya Prapthi

Hanumath Pancha Rathnam
(Five gems on Hanuman By Adhi Sankara Bhagawat Pada
Translated by P.R.Ramachander.
Veethakhila vishayecham, Jathanandaasru pulakamathyacham,
Seethapathi dhoothakhyam ,Vathathmajamadhya bhavaye hrudhyam.1

I think about the son of Vayu in my mind,
Who is devoid of all desires of enjoyment,
Who sheds copious tears of joy,
Whose hair stands erect at His thought,
And who is the great emissary of the Lord of Sita
Tharunaruna Muka kamalam , karuna rasa poora poorithapangam,
Saajeevanamaasase manjula mahimana manjana Bhagyam.2

All my life I yearn to see that Hanuman,
Who is the good fortune of Anjana,
Whose face is as red as the rising Sun,
Whose glances are full of the mercy,
Who brought back the dead in the battle,
And whose fame is great.
Sambhara vairi saradhigamambudala vipula lochanadhaaram,
Kambu gala niladishtam bimba jwalithoshta mekamalambhe.3

My only refuge is Hanuman,
Who had reddish lips like the Bimba fruit,
Who is the enemy of the arrows of Manmatha,
Who has broad eyes like lotus leaves,
And whose neck is like a conch.
Dhoorikrutha seetharthi , prakati krutha rama vaibhava spohoorthi,
Daritha dasa mukha keerthi, puratho mama bhathu Hanumatho Murthy.4
Let the form of Hanuman ,
Which drove away the sorrow of Sita,
Which made known the prowess of Rama,
And which destroyed the fame of ten headed Ravana,
Shine before me.
Vanara nikaradhyaksham, dhanava kula kumudha ravikara sadruksham,
Dheena janavana dheeksham pavana paka ambuja madraksham.5
I Saw Lord Hanuman,
Who is the result of penance of God of wind,
Who is the leader of all monkeys,
Who is similar to the Sun God to water lily,
To the hoards of Rakshasas,
And who is he protector of the suffering humans.
Ethath pavana suthasya stotram,
Ya patathi pancha rathnakhyam,
Chiramiha nikhilan bhogan bhukthwa,
Sri Rama Bhakthiman Bhavathi.
He who reads these five gems,
Which are the poems of praise of,
The son of God of wind,
Would become a devotee of Lord Rama,
And would enjoy his life for a long time.
Sri Panchamukha Hanuman Dhyana Sloka

DURGA CHALISA

DURGA CHALISA: "
Durga Chalisa
( The Durga forty In Hindi)
Translated by
P.R.Ramachander
(The Goddess Durga, the consort of Lord Shiva is an extremely popular Goddess throughout India. This mellifluous prayer addresses her and sings her praise. )
Namo Namo Durge Sukh karani,
Namo Namo ambe Dukh harani. 1
Salutations and Salutations to Durga, the giver of pleasure,
Salutations and salutations to the remover of Sorrow.
Nirakar hai jyoti tumhari,
Tihun lok pheli ujayari... 2
Your radiance is unparalleled,
And you shed light on the three worlds.
Shashi lalat mukh mahavishala,
Netra lal bhrikutee vikarala......3
Your face is like a moon and mouth very broad,
Your eyes are red and your frown frightening.
Roop Matu ko adhika suhave,
Daras karat jan ati sukh pave...... 4
Oh mother , you are extremely pretty,
And a sight of you brings pleasure to all.
Tum sansar shakti laya kina,
Palan hetu anna dhan dina...... 5
In you is merged the strength of this world,
And you provide it with food and wealth.
Annapurna hui jag pala,
Tumhi adi sundari Bala. 6
As Annapurni you nurture the world,
And you are the primeval beauty called Bala.
Pralaya kala sab nashan hari,
Tum gauri Shiv-Shankar pyari. 7
During deluge you destroy everything,
And you are Gauri the darling of Shiva shankara
Shiv yogi tumhre guna gaven,
Brahma Vishnu tumhen nit dhyaven. 8
The saints of Shiva sing your praises,
And Brahma and Vishnu daily meditate on you
Roop Saraswati ko tum dhara,
De subuddhi rishi munina ubara. 9
You also take the form of Saraswathi,
And grant them wisdom and look after them.
Dharyo roop Narsimha ko amba,
Pragat bhayin phar kar khamba. 10
Oh mother you take the form of Man-lion,
And broke the pillar and became visible.
Raksha kari Prahlaad bachayo,
Hiranakush ko swarga pathayo. 11
You saved the Prahlada and,
Sent Hiranyakashipu to heaven.
Lakshmi roop dharo jag mahin,
Shree Narayan anga samihahin. 12
You take the form of Goddess Lakshmi,
And found reposing with Lord Narayan.
Ksheer sindhu men karat vilasa,
Daya Sindhu, deeje man asa. 13
You came out of the ocean of milk,
Oh sea of mercy, please fulfill my desires.
Hingalaja men tumhin Bhavani,
Mahima amit na jet bakhani. 14
Oh Bhavani, You are the one in Hingalaja,
And your great power is beyond description.
Matangi Dhoomavati Mata,
Bhuvneshwari bagala sukhdata. 15
You yourself are Mathangi and mother Dhoomavathi,
You yourself are Bhuveneswari and Bhagalamukhi.
Shree Bhairav lara jog tarani,
Chhinna Bhala bhav dukh nivarani. 16
As Bhairavi and Tara you redeem the world,
And you are also Chinnamastha, the panacea of sorrows.
Kehari Vahan soh Bhavani,
Langur Veer Chalat agavani. 17
You repose gracefully on your steed,
And are welcomed by the hero of Monkeys.
Kar men khappar khadag viraje,
Jako dekh kal dan bhaje. 18
When with a sword and a head you appear,
It is seen that even time runs in panic.
Sohe astra aur trishoola,
Jase uthata shatru hiya shoola. 19
Seeing with weapons and the trident,
The heart of the enemy trembles with fear.
Nagarkot men tumhi virajat,
Tihun lok men danka bajat. 20
You only shine in Nagarkot,
And all the three worlds shudder.
Shumbhu Nishumbhu Danuja tum mare,
Rakta-beeja shankhan samhare. 21
You killed the brothers Shumbha and Nishumba,
And also killed the crowds of Raktha Bheeja.
Mahishasur nripa ati abhimani,
Jehi agha bhar mahi akulani. 22
Mahishasura was king who was proud,
Who filled the earth with his sins,
Roop karal Kalika dhara,
Sen Sahita tum tin samhara. 23
And you took the ferocious form of Kali,
And killed him along with his army.
Pan garha Santon par jab jab,
Bhayi sahaya Matu tum tab tab. 24
Whenever the saints are in trouble,
You mother came to their rescue.
Amarpuni aru basava loka,
Tava Mahirna sab rahen asoka. 25
All the words including that of devas,
Remain sorrow less , only by your grace.
Jwala men hai jyoti tumhari,
Tumhen sada poojen nar nari. 26
In the goddess jwalamukhi is your light,
And all men and women pray you always.
Prem bhakti se Jo yash gave,
Dukh-daridra nikat nahin ave. 27
They who sing about you with loving devotion,
Will never be neared by sorrow or poverty.
Dhyave tumhen jo nar man laee,
Janam-maran tako chuti jaee. 28

He who meditates you in his mind,
Will get rid of the cycle of birth and death.
Jogi sur-muni kahat pukari,
Jog na ho bin shakti tumhari. 29

Yogis , devas and sages openly say,
They cannot get salvation without you.
Shankar Aacharaj tap keenhon,Kam,
krodha jeet sab leenhon. 30

Adhi Shankara did penance on you,
And won over desire and anger.
Nisidin dhyan dharo Shankar ko,
Kahu kal nahini sumiro tum ko. 31

He always meditated on Lord Shiva,
And never spent any time on you.
Shakti roop ko maran na payo,
Shakti gayi tab man pachitayo. 32

Since he did not realize your powers,
He became sorry because his powers waned.
Sharnagat hui keerti bakhani,
Jai jai jai Jagdamb Bhavani. 33

Then he sought your protection and sung your praise,
Victory, victory , victory to Bhavani mother of the world.
Bhayi prasanna Aadi Jagdamba,
Dayi shakti nahin keen vilamba. 34
Then the primeval mother of the world was pleased,
And gave him back his powers immediately.
Mokon Matu kashta ati ghero,
Tum bin kaun hare dukh mero. 35

Severe distress afflicts me,
And who else can kill my sorrow , except you.
Aasha trishna nipat sataven,
Moh madadik sab binsaven. 36

Desire and longing always torture me,
And passions and lust torment my heart.
Shatru nash keeje Maharani,
Sumiron ekachita tumhen Bhavani. 37

Oh great queen kill all my enemies,
For I meditate with one mind on you.
Karo kripa Hey Matu dayala,
Riddhi-Siddhi de karahu nihala. 38

Please show me mercy , my kind mother,
And show me the paths to riches and powers.
Jab lagi jiyoon daya phal paoon,
Tumhro yash men sada sunaoon. 39

AS long as I live may I get your mercy,
And I would make others hear your fame.
Durga Chalisa jo gave,
Sab sukh bhog parampad pave. 40

He who sings this forty verses on Durga,
Will get all pleasures and attain salvation.

Dasavathara stotram

Dasavathara stotram: " Dasavathara Stotram
Translated by
P.R.Ramachander
(Lord Vishnu took several incarnations in the world. Of them the most important are ten incarnations(Dasavathara). This prayer addresses the ten avatharas. It is written in a way that complains to god that he does not show the same haste in solving the devotee’s problems, as he did when he took these incarnations.)
Yaa thwara jala sanchare,
Yaa thwara Veda Rakshane,
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 1
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed in your travel through the water,
And which you showed in your Protection of Vedas,
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(The asura called Hayagreeva stole the four Vedas from Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu took the incarnation of fish(Mathsyavathara) to chase and kill that Asura and bring back the Vedas.)
Yaa thwara mandharodhare
Yaa thwara deva rakshane
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 2
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed in lifting mandhaara mountain
And which you showed in taking care of devas,
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(To retrieve the lost vigour of the devas, it was decided to churn the ocean of milk with the Mandhara mountain , with snake Vasuki as the rope. The mountain was not standing in a stable manner. Lord Vishnu took the form of Tortoise (Koormavathara) and lent stability to the mountain under the sea)
Yaa thwara kroda veshasya,
Vidhruthou bhoo samudhyathou,
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 3
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed when you took the shape of boar,
And bring back and save the earth,
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(The rakshasa called Hiranyaksha took away the earth and hid himself under the sea. Lord Vishnu took the form of a boar (Varahavathara) followed and killed him and brought back the earth.)
Yaa thwara Chandra maalaya,
Dharane potha rakshane,
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 4
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed in wearing the garland of guts
And in saving the young boy,
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(The Rakshasa Hiranya Kasipu who was the brother of Hiranyaksha tormented the universe. He could not be killed either by a man or animal. So Lord Vishnu took the form of man-lion(Narasimhavathara) , killed Hiranya Kasipu and wore his guts as garland and also protected his so Prahladha.)
Yaa thwara vatu veshasya,
Darane bala bandhane
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 5
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed in assuming the form of a boy,
And which you showed in catching hold of Bali
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(The King Mahabali by his great strength ruled over the entire universe. Lord Vishnu took the form of a young dwarfish boy(Vamanavathara) and requested King Mahabali for three feet of land. Once given he measured the entire earth by two feet and Pushed Mahabali in to the Patala.)
Yaa thwara raja hanane,
Yaa thwara vakhya rakshane
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 6
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed in killing of kings
And which you showed in keeping your word,
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(The kings and emperors of the earth became powerful and started to torment the earth. At that time Lord Vishnu was born as Parasurama(Parasuramavathara) .When the kings killed his parents he took the vow of exterminating the earth of its kings and killed several generations of all kings)
Yaa thwara raksho hanane,
Yaa thwara brathru palane,
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 7
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed in killing of Rakshasas
And which you showed in protection of brother,
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(Several Asuras lead by the great Ravana , because of their boons defeated several devas and killed many sages. Lord Vishnu was born as Lord Rama(Ramavathara) and killed all as auras including Ravana. He was helped in this job by his brother Lakshmana)
Yaa thwara kapi rajasya poshane,
Sethu bandhane,
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 8
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed in protecting kingdom,
Of monkeys and building of a bridge,
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(Lord Rama took the help of monkeys, crossed the ocean between India and Lanka by constructing a bridge and killed Ravana.)
Yaa thwara gopa kanyanam,
Rakshane, kamsa hanane,
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 9
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed in protecting gopis
And in killing of Kamsa,
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(Evil kings with bad qualities again grew up in this earth. Lord Vishnu was born as Lord Krishna(Krishnavathara) killed Kamsa. He also befriended Gopis in his childhood, possibly to show the myth of caste superiority.)
Yaa thwara baishmi harane
Yaa thwara rugmi bhandane
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 10
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed when stealing Rugmani
And which you showed in tying Rugmi
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(As Lord Krishna he waged war and made Rukhmani as his wife and in the process killed her brother Rugmi.)
Yaa thwara budha sidhantha
Kadhane budha mohane,
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 11
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed in telling principles of Budha
And attracting the wise ones,
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(The religion of Sanathana dharma was corrupted by fanatics. Lord Vishnu took birth as Lord Budha and reformed the great religion. Many people do not agree that Budha is an incarnation. They believe that Balarama (the brother of Rama) was an incarnation.)
Yaa thwara thuraga rohe
Yaa thwara mlecha marane
Mayyarthe karunamurthe ,
Saa thwara kwa gatha hare. 12
Why did you not show the same haste
Which you showed in riding the horse
And which you showed in killing the foreigners
When it did concern with solving my sorrow, Hey Vishnu.
(It is predicted that Lord Vishnu will be born as Kalki (Kalkiavathata), who will ride on a horse and kill all foreigners who would be corrupting the Hindu religion.)
Sathya avatharya puthrena
Bhakthiko niraneridham,
Dasavathara sthavakam,
Vadan Mokshamapunyath. 13
He who recites with devotion,
And deep interest,
This prayer of the ten incarnations,
Would himself attain salvation at the end.

God of kuladevata

God of kuladevata: "
Kuldevatas mainFor purposes of worship the Hindu has three principal deities.
The first is the Gramadevata (the god of the village or town),
The second the Kuladevata (deity of his family or Gotra), and

belong to the Siva or Shakti cult.
Many villages of Tamil Nadu in South India people are celebrating this Great God, KaruppaswamyMuneeswaran , kaaval deiyvangal! All along the highways in Tamil Nadu we can see huge Iyyanar statues riding on the horse, standing at the entrance to the villages keeping guard as believed by the naive, innocent, pious rural peopleas their life long Guardian God. Usually the idols of this Great God is situated at the entrance of every Hindu temple as security of other Gods present in the temples. In legend it is told that Karuppaswamy is the other image of Lord Shiva and He is given the same importance as given to Lord Shiva. Many hundreds of Boothas are coming under the administration of Lord Karuppaswamy and Boothas are also adorned by His devotees. In every Karuppaswamy temple where Karuppaswamy is the prime God the gaint Bootha Statues are standing on both sides of the temple. Lord Karuppaswamy has different images such as Muthu Karuppana Swamy, Punugu Karuppana Swamy and Sangili Karuppana Swamy,Sonai Karuppanasamy.Karuppusamy stands as a guard for the pathinettam padi.Sabarimalai,
There are different forms of karuppusamy, like Sangilli Karuppan
Lord Karuppaswamy is considered to be the guardian God of the village where His temple is situated. According to common belief not only do this Great God scare away evil spirits and protect villagers against evil diseases and ill fortunes but also punishing erring persons. Gods other than Karuppaswamy are Lord Ayyanar and Lord Madurai Veeran. The statues of these dieties are found at the boundaries of villages. It is common to find the statue of Lord Karuppaswamy riding on horse. It is also believed that Guardian Gods like Lord Karuppaswamy ride around villages on horse to protect people and His devotees. He has His peculiar image by having big crown made of cloth, big moustache and bright eyes. He is always equipped with spear and machete to protect His devotees from evil things.

On the day of Maha Shivarathri, a major Hindu festival, the various groups of Hindu people are celebrating and praying their own prime Gods including Lord Karuppaswamy. This festival comes on every new moon day of February last week or March first week of every year.

Dhana Lakshmi Stotram
Translated by P. R. Ramachander
[Here is a prayer addressed to Dhana Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. Goddess Parvathi asks Shiva as to how the poor, the timid and family men can become wealthy. He then teaches her this great prayer, addressed to Goddess Parvathi herself. This indicates that the Goddess Parvathi also can be worshipped as the giver of wealth.]
Dhanadha Uvacha:
Devi deva mupa gamya neelakandam mama priyam,
Krupaya Parvathi praha Sankaram, Karunakaram.
(Dhanadha said:The goddess went near Lord with the blue neck, who is dear to me,And with kindness Goddess Parvathi asked Sankara, the doer of mercy.)
Devyuvacha:
Bruhi, vallabha saadhoonaam, daridhraanaam, kudumbinaam,
Daridhra dalanopayamanchasaiva dhana pradham.
(The Goddess said:My dear, please tell me how, the timid, the poor and family men,Would cross over poverty and get wealth bestowed on them.)
Shiva Uvacha:
Poojyan Parvathi vakhya midhamaha Maheswara,
Uchitham Jagad Ambaasi thava bhoothanukampaya.
(The God of all, then praised the words of Parvathi,And told, that it was apt for mother of the world,To ask this,as she has compassion to all beings.)
Saseetham Sanujam Ramam Sanjaneyam Sahanugam,
Pranamya paramanandam Vakshyeham stotra muthamam.
